Ava Mannings has finally broken her silence after nearly two years away from social media, revealing the devastating reason she suddenly disappeared from the public eye shortly after winning The Voice UK.
The singer, who was 21 when she competed on the show in 2024, revealed that she was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2024 — just about a week after her victory became public.
Ava returned to Instagram on September 22, almost two years after her last appearance online. In an emotional video, she explained that it was difficult to find the right words to describe everything she had been through. She also shared a photograph showing the scar left by her surgery.
The diagnosis came at a moment when Ava’s life seemed to be changing in the best possible way. During The Voice UK, she had impressed the coaches and eventually chose McFly stars Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones as her mentors.
Her journey ended with Ava being crowned the winner of the 13th season. Along with the title, she received a £50,000 prize and released her song The Long Winding Road.
But only days later, everything changed.
Ava explained that she underwent major surgery after doctors discovered the tumour. Although she has not shared extensive details about her treatment, she revealed that the operation had a very positive result.
The singer admitted that the experience had completely changed her life and that she was still processing everything that had happened. She also made it clear that she was not yet ready to talk about every detail of the ordeal.
Her sudden disappearance had left fans wondering where she had gone. Now, after finally explaining the reason, Ava appears ready to take another step forward.
