Brooke Hogan has opened up about one of the most painful moments in her relationship with her late father, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.
The 38-year-old revealed that her relationship with her father was never quite the same after he had an affair with one of her close friends, Christiane Plante. Brooke said the incident became a major turning point between them, even though she eventually chose to forgive him.
Christiane Plante had worked with Brooke on her 2006 album and later confirmed that she had been involved with Hulk. At the time, Hulk was still legally married to Brooke’s mother, Linda, although the couple had separated. Linda filed for divorce in 2007 after 24 years of marriage, and the divorce was finalized in 2009.
For Brooke, however, the affair was about much more than her parents’ troubled marriage. It involved someone from her own circle, making the situation particularly difficult for her to process.
Brooke explained that she has always been someone who forgives people easily. She said she forgave her father, but that forgiveness did not erase what had happened between them.
Something had changed.
She recalled that after the affair, she felt that her father no longer related to her in quite the same way. The experience became part of a much larger breakdown in their relationship, which was also affected by her parents’ divorce and the complicated family situation that followed.
Despite the painful memories, Brooke does not describe her father only through the mistakes he made. She has also emphasized that he was a great dad to her when she was a child and that the difficult parts of their relationship did not erase those happier memories.
Brooke and Hulk eventually became estranged, with Brooke explaining that distancing herself from him was something she needed in order to cope with the complicated family dynamic.
Hulk Hogan died in July 2025 at the age of 71 after suffering a heart attack. His death brought another complicated chapter to the family story, particularly because Brooke had been estranged from him for a period before his passing.
Despite everything that happened between them, Brooke has said that their final conversation still mattered deeply to her. She told her father that she loved him during their last conversation, leaving her with at least one final moment of affection between them.
Now, as Brooke reflects on her relationship with Hulk, she is looking back at both sides of their story — the painful events that changed their bond and the memories of the father she loved as a child.
