Today, Grammy-winning pop icon Britney Spears woke up feeling down and shared her emotions in a rambling and emotional Instagram post alongside a photo of a flower.
“It’s been an extremely dark week. I don’t feel any love—and honestly, if I did, I’d politely tell it to shove it right up your ass!” she wrote with biting sarcasm.
The Baby One More Time singer revealed that her inner turmoil began earlier this year, when she developed a deep aversion to people.
“I’m speechless! I talk to animals, I feel incredibly close to God, and my intuition has never been stronger. The most powerful connection I feel is with Maui—it’s a spiritual bond that awakens and enlightens me!”
The Crossroads star then shifted into an even more surreal account peppered with profanity.
“I was in this place and saw so many lions. Before I walked down a long hallway, there were maybe 17 lions on each side! I stopped and nearly dropped to my knees. I felt something deeply sacred. I was in awe and shock—not because I saw them, but because I felt them all around me!” she described.
Author of The Woman in Me, Spears admitted she struggled to get to the point and wished she could make her storytelling more concise. Still, she continued, now referencing the king of the jungle—and even legendary director Steven Spielberg.
“Three lions stood up and touched the top of their cage with their paws—three times! Honestly, it was insane! Someone told me they’d never done that for anyone before… and Spielberg had just been there yesterday!”
She concluded that she feels far more at ease around animals than around people—and took a jab at her past relationships.
“After that, I dated two jerks and realized I loved their dogs more than I ever liked them. I think it’s because their dogs would bow to me every time I walked in the room! These men were cruel—cold, distant, and not once in six years did they even hold my hand in the car! I’ll always choose animals over people. Maybe I should go back and say hello to the lions—the most feared creatures in the world—who actually acknowledged me!”
Britney’s emotional state comes amid growing concerns from fans. The pop star has a well-documented history of struggles with addiction and mental health. After a public breakdown in 2008, she was placed under the legal and physical conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears. It wasn’t until November 2021—13 years later—that the court finally terminated the arrangement, granting Britney her freedom.
Shortly after, she married model Sam Asghari, but the marriage lasted only a year. Their divorce was finalized in the spring of last year.
Since then, fans have been increasingly worried about her behavior. Spears has posted a series of lingerie photoshoots and dancing videos in bikinis. The erratic movements and odd props featured in these clips have led many to fear she may have relapsed. Some even called for her to be placed under guardianship again.
