Princess Kate once again captured everyone’s attention with a glamorous appearance on the red carpet. The Princess of Wales arrived at the world premiere of Tom Cruise’s new film Digger in London alongside Prince William, turning heads with an elegant purple evening gown and historic royal jewelry.
The 44-year-old royal wore a flowing Jenny Packham Grape Cutout Pleated gown made from silk chiffon. The striking dress originally appeared in the designer’s autumn-winter 2016 collection and gave Kate an effortlessly elegant look.
She paired the gown with a burgundy velvet Jimmy Choo J Box clutch and matching velvet heels. But it was her jewelry that added an especially meaningful touch to the evening.
Kate wore the famous Collingwood diamond and pearl earrings, which once belonged to Princess Diana. Diana received the earrings before her 1981 marriage to King Charles, allowing Kate to pay a subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law.
Another remarkable piece was the Queen Mother’s historic amethyst necklace. The heart-shaped necklace had previously been worn by Queen Camilla at the 2012 royal premiere of Skyfall at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The necklace has a long royal history. It originally belonged to Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII, and was later given to the future Queen Mother in 1923 on the occasion of her engagement to the future King George VI. The spectacular piece features amethysts, diamonds and small pearls, with a large heart-shaped amethyst at its center.
Prince William looked equally polished in a black-tie ensemble, complete with a velvet tuxedo jacket and highly polished shoes. The couple smiled and waved to the crowds gathered outside the premiere.
Tom Cruise also shared a warm moment with Kate, personally helping her down the steps leading to the cinema. The Hollywood star had met the Prince and Princess of Wales before, when they attended the British premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in May 2022.
Before the screening of Digger, Kate and William were photographed chatting and smiling with Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Cruise and William have also previously joined forces at an event supporting London’s air ambulance service.
The evening once again brought together the worlds of royalty and Hollywood, with Kate’s spectacular appearance and historic jewelry becoming some of the most memorable moments of the premiere.
