Megan Markle and Prince Harry Face Backlash After Visiting Fire Victims’ Center in Pasadena
After a visit to a fire evacuation center in Pasadena, California, which had been nearly destroyed by devastating wildfires, Megan Markle and Prince Harry have faced criticism. Actress Justin Bateman, known for her role in Family Ties, referred to the couple as “disaster tourists” using the tragedy for publicity.
Despite the backlash, Megan continued her efforts to support fire victims, and was seen the following day at a new donation center in a casual black outfit, wearing a LA baseball cap in support of her hometown. Megan was photographed holding two large bags of donations while chatting with a young woman.
The couple’s Archewell Foundation made a donation to the Altadena Girls campaign, an initiative started by 14-year-old Avery Culvert to help teenage girls from her community regain confidence and self-esteem after the fires.
However, their visit received mocking comments from Susan Hirasuna, who referred to Megan as a “princess” and commented on their visit to the “commoners.” A source close to the couple stated they were hurt by the negative reaction, emphasizing that Megan’s connection to Los Angeles runs deep, as it is her hometown.
