The couple had long dreamed of having a dog. They wanted someone who would bring warmth and joy into their home. Instead of buying a puppy, they decided to adopt from a shelter—giving a second chance to an animal that had already been betrayed once.
When they saw her—a large, fluffy white dog with kind, gentle eyes—they knew immediately: she was the one. The dog was affectionate, obedient, didn’t bark without reason, quickly got used to the house, and even settled into a new sleeping spot by the bed. Everything seemed perfect… except for one strange detail.
Sometimes, in the middle of the night, the couple would wake up to find the dog sitting right on the bed, staring at them without blinking. She didn’t growl or move—she simply watched silently. There was something unsettling in her gaze.
“Maybe she’s dreaming?” the wife tried to reassure herself.
