Fans of Dwayne Johnson were stunned by his dramatic weight loss. For the first time, a slimmer “The Rock” was seen at the world premiere of Unbreakable at the Venice Film Festival. Now, the actor has finally revealed the real reason behind his transformation and commented on his new appearance for the first time.
During a Q&A session at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Johnson admitted that he is preparing for a new project with director Benny Safdie, and it is this role that is driving his weight loss.

“We’re making a film called Lizard Music, based on the novel by Daniel Pinkwater,” the actor shared.
Johnson will play “a very quirky and eccentric 70-year-old man who befriends a chicken.”
He joked that for this role, he has to eat “less chicken,” whereas previously he had bulked up for his portrayal of former MMA fighter Mark Kerr in Unbreakable.

“I’ve already lost some weight,” Johnson said, “but I’m still on the journey. I’m very excited for the chance to transform again. I can’t wait.”
So, Johnson isn’t stopping his weight loss anytime soon!
The plot of Lizard Music follows a boy who accidentally discovers lizards playing alien music. It is there that he finds a door to an extraordinary world. In search of answers, he encounters a strange Rooster-Man and his companion, a 70-year-old chicken named Claudia. Together, they embark on a journey through invisible and bizarre worlds.
