Sixteen-year-old Calysta Bevier’s courage is truly remarkable. Just a year ago, her world was turned upside down when her mother rushed her to the hospital after spotting a lump on her stomach during a vacation. Doctors quickly diagnosed her with stage 3 ovarian cancer.
Calysta faced a tough summer filled with chemotherapy treatments. She says losing her hair was the hardest moment she ever endured, yet she never lost hope. Music and singing became her refuge, helping her stay strong. “Songs can really help people get through anything,” she says.
On August 28, Calysta received the incredible news of remission.

With her strength returning and her hair growing back, Calysta took her triumph to the stage of America’s Got Talent. At her audition, she delivered a powerful, emotional performance of “Fight Song.” She explained her motivation: “I’m here to show everyone that no matter what you’ve been through, you should never stop chasing your dreams.”
Even before she shared her story, Simon Cowell recognized something special about her the moment she walked on stage—and many would agree. Calysta earned the prestigious Golden Buzzer, the highest honor during auditions!
Her genuine and fearless spirit makes her easy to connect with, even through a screen. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing this brave young woman perform live, and my heart is with her every step of the way.
Calysta’s story is as extraordinary as her voice. Help share her inspiring journey with the world!
