A homeless man jumped into a freezing river to save a drowning boy, but instead of gratitude, the boy’s mother screamed at him 😨😨
On a cold November day, the sharp wind from the river cut through everything. Nearby, a five-year-old boy played near some old cars while his mother, distracted and laughing at a friend’s jokes, talked on her phone.
Unnoticed, the boy wandered toward the river’s edge. The water was rough and murky from recent rains, and when he slipped, his heavy jacket pulled him under with a terrified scream.
His mother barely glanced up, lost in her conversation, unaware of the danger.
The current dragged the boy away, gasping and struggling to breathe.
Suddenly, Erlich, a homeless man known in the neighborhood only by scorn, appeared on the opposite bank. Without hesitation, he plunged into the icy water, soaked in filthy clothes, and reached the boy, grabbing his collar.
Shivering and pale, the boy was wrapped in Erlich’s torn cloak and pulled to safety.
Instead of thanks, the mother screamed at Erlich: “Have you contacted my son? You’re a jerk!”
She seemed more angry than concerned, failing to grasp that her son had almost drowned.
Stunned but worried, Erlich hugged the boy once more. The mother shouted at him to bring her son back but didn’t dare come closer.
Calmly, Erlich walked to a nearby neighbor’s house, asking urgently for help and to call the police. “You saw what almost happened,” he said.
The neighbor called immediately. Police arrived and took the mother away after she continued shouting obscenities.
Following an investigation, the mother lost custody of her son. After a brief stay with the kind neighbor, the boy was placed with a loving foster family.
