Meeno Peluce, once a beloved child actor known for his roles in hit shows like Starsky and Hutch, Diff’rent Strokes, and Happy Days, has found a new calling — not in front of the camera, but behind it. Recently spotted at Bernie Sanders’ “Fighting Oligarchy” rally in downtown Los Angeles, Peluce worked the event as a press photographer, capturing powerful moments with a keen eye. With his silver beard and understated style, he’s nearly unrecognizable from his TV days in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Peluce has seamlessly reinvented himself as a professional photographer, building an impressive career that includes shooting high-profile figures like Lady Gaga and Rihanna. His work spans album covers, promotional shoots, advertising campaigns, and editorial spreads for major outlets like Rolling Stone. His creative evolution showcases a deep understanding of storytelling through images.
At the Sanders rally, Peluce was in his element — photographing speeches by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and capturing Neil Young’s performance. He later posted highlights from the event to his Instagram, including a candid shot of Sanders taking a selfie, underscoring how close Peluce was to the action.
While his last on-screen role was in 2001, Peluce’s earlier credits include a part in the horror classic The Amityville Horror and a creative partnership with his half-sister, Soleil Moon Frye of Punky Brewster fame. Together, they co-wrote and directed the 1998 indie film Wild Horses.
Today, Peluce channels the storytelling skills he honed as an actor into photography. Whether capturing political movements or the energy of music legends, he focuses on authentic, emotionally resonant subjects — what he calls “salt-of-the-earth” stories. His journey from child star to respected photographer is a testament to his lasting talent and creative passion.
