The Royal Horticultural Society has cultivated a new rose named in honor of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton — Catherine’s Rose. But this tribute goes beyond beauty — proceeds from the rose’s sales will go toward supporting cancer patients.

In addition to honoring the princess, the initiative highlights the importance of spending more time in nature. Experts from the society emphasize that time outdoors — especially among flowers and greenery — can significantly improve both mental and physical health.
Spending time in nature has always been a source of comfort and strength. Gardens and green spaces provide not only beauty and joy, but also vital support for our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

The rose itself is a delicate coral-pink bloom with a rich fragrance featuring notes of Turkish delight and mango. Each cluster can hold up to 15 flowers, with individual blooms measuring 8 to 12 cm in diameter. The plant thrives in mixed soil, large containers, or flowerbeds alongside other roses.
Catherine’s Rose is already available for purchase, and all funds raised will be donated to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The money will support the creation of a specialized national training program for clinical teams, aiming to improve the quality of life for cancer patients both during and after treatment.
