Are Lilibet and Archie Inheriting Prince Harry’s Red Hair — and Why Isn’t He Thrilled?

The disgraced son of Britain’s King Charles III has always been known for his fiery red hair, which, though thinning in recent years, has remained just as vibrant. This distinctive trait has been passed down to the children of the 40-year-old Duke of Sussex — 5-year-old Archie and 3-year-old Lilibet. Meghan Markle recently shared photos of the children, taken in the garden of their $14 million Montecito estate.

The former American actress was dressed in a fitted black knit sweatshirt and black pants. She appeared without makeup, her hair down naturally. Princess Lilibet wore a pink outfit, while Prince Archie sported a dark blue long-sleeved sweater and black jeans.

In the first photo, Meghan, wearing a gardening glove, cuts a rose and beams a wide smile as she offers it to Lilibet. The little girl’s fiery red hair cascades down her back in a soft, messy flow. In another picture, Archie, with his short red hair, is seen picking out a flower for his mom. In a third shot, he holds up a yellow rose, which completely covers his face. “With my little loves,” Markle captioned the post.

After her engagement to the heir to the throne, the “Suits” star was forbidden from having personal social media accounts. However, after stepping back from royal duties and moving from the U.K. to the U.S., Meghan no longer needs to follow the strict palace protocols. She has returned to social media and now happily shares glimpses into her family life in their private Santa Barbara enclave.

The Duchess of Sussex also showed herself making strawberry jam in her kitchen, with Lilibet eagerly helping her. The little girl stirred the jam with a wooden spoon. Meghan asked her what she thought of the treat. “It’s beautiful!” the little one exclaimed excitedly.

Markle also captured Archie feeding koi fish in the pond on their property. “Mom, look! I just fed it!” the boy said enthusiastically. “Good job, that’s enough,” the former actress laughed.

Meanwhile, users noted that the Duke and Duchess’s children now speak with a noticeable Californian accent. Previously, Meghan appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she mentioned that Archie and Lilibet still say some words with a British accent like their father. “Oh, some words they still pronounce with a British accent — like ‘zebra’ and others. They have these moments where it comes out. They mostly have an American accent, but say certain words like their dad, and I think it’s adorable,” the former royal shared.
