You never truly know what someone is going through. Always show kindness!
The following heartwarming story perfectly illustrates how even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact.
One evening in West Warwick, Rhode Island, Lindsey Sheely ordered pizza. As she stepped outside to pick up her order, her two-year-old son, Cohen, ran after her and gave the delivery man a hug. The delivery man, touched by the gesture, returned the hug with a smile.
Lindsey decided to share this beautiful moment on social media, hoping to spread some positivity. Little did she know, the delivery man would later reach out to her, deeply moved by her son’s kind gesture.
After the video went viral, Ryan Catterson, the delivery man, messaged Lindsey, explaining that he was the one Cohen had hugged. He asked for permission to share the video, which she happily granted. However, when she checked his profile, she discovered that Ryan had recently lost his 16-year-old daughter, Alyssa, the week before.
“It hit me deeply because it felt like my daughter was there with me, just a week after losing her,” Ryan shared with WLNE. “It meant so much to me.”
Lindsey, touched by how much this small act of kindness meant to Ryan, called it “a little blessing from God.”
“I believe in divine intervention, and I know Ryan delivered our pizza for a reason,” she said.
That hug was exactly what this grieving father needed, arriving at the perfect moment.
“It was almost as if the universe, or my daughter, had sent it to me,” Ryan said.
Lindsey added, “You never know what people are going through.” This story is a beautiful reminder of that truth, and we couldn’t agree more.
