According to Forbes, the remains of the 95-year-old artist were found in the ashes of her completely burned-out home in Altadena, Los Angeles County, a few days after the tragedy.
On January 12, Curry’s great-granddaughter confirmed the information on social media, citing a report from the coroner’s office, where experts were able to establish the identity of the deceased.
The publication noted that as of January 12, at least 24 people have died as a result of fires in Los Angeles County.
