Gwyneth Paltrow’s 20-year-old daughter, Apple, caused a stir at the Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, held at the Shangri-La Hotel, where tickets cost $1,000. This year, around 20 girls from wealthy families participated in the event. Apple chose a sky-blue strapless dress with a corset bodice, black bow at the waist, and a multi-layered ruffled skirt from Valentino’s spring-summer 2025 collection, which took 750 hours to create. She was styled with glamorous makeup and her hair was elegantly styled.

However, Apple shocked the crowd with her behavior on the makeshift red carpet. While the debutantes took turns posing for photographers, Apple didn’t wait for her turn. She pushed her way forward, hands on hips, head held high, overtaking a girl in a black dress. The other debutante was left confused, awkwardly smiling as she stepped aside. After her walk, Apple nearly knocked over another debutante who was waiting for her turn for a photoshoot.
Social media users criticized Apple’s actions. Comments included: “She’s so disgusting and arrogant,” “Wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have her moment,” “Not a great way to behave at such an event,” “It looked awful, but maybe she was joking,” and “A mean move. She’s acting like a teenager.”
The exclusive event was hosted by Ophélie Renoir, who invites guests based on their appearance, intellect, and family connections. It was advertised as a charity event raising funds for two children’s health organizations. Among the debutantes were European royals and daughters of celebrities. Each debutante was accompanied by a cavalier, known as a “chevalier,” usually from an aristocratic family. Apple was escorted by Count Leo Kozima Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Despite the awkward moments, Apple’s debut went well. She was joined by her family, including her mother Gwyneth, her ex-husband Chris Martin, their 18-year-old son Moses, and Gwyneth’s 81-year-old mother Blythe Danner.
Despite their divorce in 2016, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have maintained a friendly relationship. They spent a packed weekend together in Paris with their children, and Gwyneth shared moments from the trip, including a photo of Apple trying on her dress, as well as a family photo with Chris and Moses at a park bench and pictures from an art gallery tour.
