54-year-old Erika Eleniak recently surprised fans with her dramatic transformation—her arms are now covered in multiple tattoos. The former 1990s sex symbol, who once turned heads, is now almost unrecognizable.
Erika was a striking child, and her parents quickly took advantage of her beauty, booking her for commercials and TV roles. At just 12 years old, she landed a part in one of Hollywood’s most iconic films, Steven Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), playing the pretty classmate who caught the main character’s eye.

However, it was 1989 that marked her true rise to fame. At 20, she posed for Playboy and joined the cast of the hit TV show Baywatch. The series, known for its stunning women in red swimsuits running along the beach, catapulted her to fame, and Erika became one of the era’s top sex symbols.
In 1992, she left Baywatch to pursue a film career. For a while, Hollywood embraced her, with roles in the box-office success and Oscar-nominated thriller Under Siege (1992) alongside Steven Seagal and Tommy Lee Jones. She also appeared in the big-screen adaptation of The Beverly Hillbillies.

However, her next films didn’t do as well. The 1995 romantic comedy A Pyromaniac’s Love Story was a flop, followed by the horror-comedy Bordello of Blood (1996), which was part of the Tales from the Crypt franchise. By the time she was 27, Erika had slipped off Hollywood’s A-list, and her career never regained its previous momentum.

In 2001, Erika married a crew technician, and in 2006, she had a child. Around this time, she began to distance herself from the glamorous image that had once defined her career. Struggling with overeating and weight gain, she took a break from acting and didn’t appear in films between 2006 and 2010. Eventually, she made a return to the industry, making occasional appearances in various projects.
