Hollywood star Sharon Stone risks losing a huge audience after her harsh comments about the people of her home country. Sharon appeared at the Turin Film Festival, currently taking place in Italy. During a press conference, she unexpectedly launched into a fiery tirade about Americans.
“My country is in its teenage years. Teenagers are very arrogant. Teenagers think they know everything. Adolescence is naive and ignorant. And we are in our ignorant, arrogant adolescent years. We’ve never seen anything like this in our country. Americans don’t travel, 80 percent of people don’t even have a passport, so they are uneducated and show extraordinary naivety,” Stone said.

The actress compared Italy’s long history with the history of the United States. “Italy has seen fascism, it has seen what happens under a fascist government, and the only way to deal with these problems is to help each other. Good people must help good people. And these people must understand that many of your friends are bad people. You have to be very clear-headed and understand that your friends are dangerous, cruel men. You must keep them away from your daughters, wives, and girlfriends. It’s time we can no longer turn a blind eye to the fact that bad people remain bad,” added the star of the cult film Basic Instinct.
Sharon’s outburst was triggered by the results of the presidential election, in which Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris. Social media users mocked the actress, who has a multimillion-dollar fortune, for being out of touch with the real struggles faced by ordinary people.

“The Hollywood elite is detached from reality and has become irrelevant,” some users commented. “You couldn’t have played a Hollywood celebrity better than this. It’s laughable,” another added. “I guess she hasn’t heard that we don’t care about Hollywood anymore, especially what’s happening there,” one person wrote. “Exactly because of her stance, Americans voted for a candidate who stood up for ordinary people and ignored these self-proclaimed wealthy experts,” another comment said. “Sharon brags about having money for travel, while belittling those who spend their last on food and housing. It’s disgusting,” read another.
Earlier, the Golden Globe winner had promised to leave the U.S. and start a new life in Europe if Trump won. “I’m definitely considering buying a house in Italy. I think it’s a reasonable decision at this point,” she had said.
