Naomi Watts shared the sad news with her fans early on Monday morning, November 25: her beloved grandmother had passed away. The actress posted a tribute, sharing several family photos. In the touching pictures, her grandmother is seen posing with Naomi while they look through photo albums together.
“Our Watts grandmother lived to be 101 and a half years old,” Naomi wrote. “She received a letter from the king to celebrate her centenary. She passed away last night. Rest in peace,” she added.
Her grandmother’s death came just months after Naomi said goodbye to another cherished family member. In August, Naomi revealed that her maternal grandmother, Nikki Roberts, had passed away at the age of 99 shortly after suffering a stroke. At the time, Watts shared a heartfelt message about how her grandmother had influenced her life.

“My dear Nanna has left this world, but her spirit will never leave us,” Naomi wrote. “I feel truly blessed to have had the most wonderful relationship with her. She is such a huge part of who I am: her core values, her work ethic, her cheeky humor, and her joy for life.”

Naomi has a large family, which she often talks about on her blog. The Hollywood actress is a mother of two children, whom she raises with her ex-husband, Liev Schreiber. She has previously opened up about the emotional burden her family has carried in recent months, especially her mother and aunts, who were deeply shaken by Nikki’s passing.

“My mom and aunts are in complete despair today, but we know what a wonderful life she had,” Naomi continued, remembering her grandmother’s determination to live to see her 99th birthday. “Even after a massive stroke, Nikki’s indomitable spirit showed when she gathered the strength to celebrate one last time.”
Naomi’s post was commented on not only by fans but also by many friends and fellow actors, including Julianne Moore and Glenn Close, who sent their sincere condolences.
