The 90-year-old actress continues to act and make public appearances. Sophia Loren remains an integral part of the film industry—and she plans to continue in this direction. The actress recalled that she first saw Hollywood in the 1950s, by which time she had already begun to build her career in her native Italy.

Sophia had imagined Los Angeles as a magical land, but instead, from the airplane window, all she saw was barren fields. “It took me some time to reconcile the Hollywood of my dreams with its reality, but once I met the actors and directors I had admired, I found the Hollywood of my dreams again, because that dream lived in the great talent and hearts of all these wonderful artists,” Loren said.

The star of Hollywood’s Golden Age is not ready to retire. “I don’t want to think about my legacy. I want to think about my next film. I’ll think about legacy when I retire, but I hope I never retire,” she added.

Loren admitted that she never had a “Plan B,” so she had no other choice but to succeed in acting. This helped her avoid taking an easier, simpler path.
Last year, Sophia Loren was hospitalized after a fall at home. She suffered a fractured hip.
