The 60-year-old actor is happily married to a woman from Kyoto. Nicolas Cage and Riko Shibata appeared at a star-studded event in California.
The Hollywood actor has found happiness in his fifth marriage. The age difference of 31 years does not bother Nicholas and Rico. The couple appeared together at the 25th film festival in Newport Beach, California. They attended an official breakfast at the Balboa Bay Resort.
Riko opted for total black. She put on a velvet long sleeve and a high-waisted mini skirt. The outfit emphasized the slender figure of the brunette with Japanese roots. The look was completed with a matching quilted Chanel bag on a long chain and suede ankle boots. Shibata did her makeup with bright red lipstick and let her hair down. She wore laconic gold saucer earrings as jewelry.
Looking stylish in a black silk shirt with a contrasting white floral print, a white blazer, slim black trousers and black patent leather shoes, Nicolas looked happy and content as he posed with his new wife on the red carpet.
Nicholas and Rico met through mutual friends in Japan in 2019, where the actor was filming Prisoners of the Ghost Country. They got engaged via FaceTime in 2021. The wedding took place on February 16, 2022, in Las Vegas. The bride chose a traditional Japanese wedding kimono, handmade by artisans in Kyoto. The couple has a 2-year-old daughter, Augusta Francesca Cage.
At the Newport Beach ceremony, Nicholas shook hands with Maverick Award recipient Colman Domingo. He also posed with Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Diane Warren and June Squibb.
Cage has completed filming the eight-part series Spider-Noir, in which he plays a superhero turned private detective, the Daily Mail reports.
The Oscar winner has a 34-year-old son, Weston, with his first love, Christina Fulton. Nicholas has four grandchildren – boys Lucian and Sorin, and twin girls Cyress and Venice.
Cage was married to actress Patricia Arquette for six years. His union with Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s daughter, lasted only 109 days. Cage’s third wife was Korean waitress Alice Kim. The couple divorced in 2016 and have a 19-year-old son, Kal-El. In 2019, the actor hastily married makeup artist Erica Koike, but filed for divorce four days later.
