The 50-year-old actress has been in a relationship with Ryan since 2011. They married in a private ceremony five years later. Now, Eva has admitted that she has never considered herself beautiful. Gosling has convinced her otherwise.
“Sometimes I feel really damn sexy. The way my man looks at me is just… sometimes I think, ‘Oh my God.’ It might not please some people, but a lot of what I feel reflects what he gives me. There are so many things that can make me feel sexy, and I would say I feel more sexy than not. Probably because I’ve never thought of myself as beautiful, but I’ve always felt very sexy,” Mendes explained.
The actress has two daughters with Gosling: 10-year-old Esmeralda and 8-year-old Amanda. Eva spoke about the challenges of parenting. She stated that her parenting style is unfair to her daughters. Mendes held back tears as she mentioned that she doesn’t like herself when she yells at her girls. The star doesn’t want her daughters to grow up in fear.
She prefers to work in the same room as Esmeralda and Amanda to feel connected with them. However, the constant need for attention from the girls sometimes stresses Mendes out. She tries to practice gentle parenting, but the methods her parents used still take over. The “Fast & Furious” actress finds herself yelling.
“I don’t yell when they need me. I never say ‘shut up.’ It’s not an ‘angry’ shout, but it doesn’t matter. I yell. And I find that shout very cultural. It’s hard for me to reach them without yelling. Rushing and shouting are the hardest things for me.”
Eva admitted that she struggles to avoid raising her voice at her children. When she fails, she reflects on what she could do better and what kind of mother she is. “I don’t like myself. I act like a child,” she said, recalling moments when she yelled at her daughters.
