Two dogs, Ellabelle and Ladybug, have been through a lot in their lives. The pit bulls were abandoned by their owners, but fate brought them together in the same shelter. Hunted and beaten down, they hoped to find a loving home someday.
When Robert McGowan showed up at the shelter one day, a miracle happened in the dogs’ lives. The man was looking for a pet, but after learning the story of these pit bulls, he decided that he would not go home without them.
Since then, they have been together every day – and the pets are incredibly grateful to their owner. Recently, they proved their devotion in the most amazing way. They saved Robert’s life.
Last week, the man was working on his car in the garage next door when four hooligans burst in. One of them punched Robert in the eye, causing him to fall off his chair. “They asked for the keys to the car, and I said they were at home,” the man said.
When one of the attackers headed into the house, Robert’s loyal help was waiting for him behind the door. The dogs ran outside and began to bark loudly, chasing away the strangers. The frightened hooligans immediately ran away from the enraged dogs.
“My girls ran into the garage and started to protect me,” the owner recalls. “They stood behind me like a wall, letting the robbers know that they were not to be trifled with.” Ellabelle and Ladybug acted like true heroines – thanks to them, the owner got off with a black eye and kept the car.
Robert generously thanked his beauties by feeding them their favorite treats. “Once no one wanted them, and they were thrown out on the street. But they became my family.
