The 23-year-old model from Texas appeared on the podcast “Internet Dead,” where she spoke about Payne’s mental health struggles.
“I once tried to help him, but he wouldn’t accept my help. He would always text me after we broke up, saying, ‘I’m not feeling well.’ He always played with death and would say, ‘Well, I’m going to die soon, everything is bad.’ I know the lifestyle he leads, and eventually, something is going to happen. So I always thought, ‘It’s good he says these things; I need to help him, because if something happens to him, I won’t be able to live with that,'” Maya shared.
The couple’s relationship was tumultuous, often breaking up and getting back together. Their final split occurred in May 2022, initiated by Henry, who claimed the singer had been unfaithful.
Maya’s comments about wanting to help her ex-boyfriend contrast with her recent actions. Just a few days ago, she instructed her legal team to send Liam a letter demanding that he cease contact with her. She stated that he was being intrusive, calling and messaging her, her friends, and even her mother. The model was represented in court by attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Serna.
