Wax figures are usually associated with the famous Madame Tussauds Museum, where incredibly lifelike replicas of celebrities and iconic characters are displayed. However, sculptor Arlindo Armacollo, from a small town in southern Brazil, decided to go his own way. His wax creations are completely different: often humorous, rarely resembling the originals, and sometimes even a little creepy. Yet, they undeniably have their own unique charm.

At the Museu de Cera Rolandia, which showcases Armacollo’s work, visitors can encounter true wax masterpieces. Figures like Mother Teresa, Albert Einstein, Princess Diana, and Nelson Mandela can inspire admiration—but also bursts of laughter.

Armacollo’s art is more like caricature, as none of his wax figures actually resemble the famous people they’re meant to represent. These quirky creations are a topic for endless conversation, but the best way to appreciate them is to see them in person.
