A PR expert has warned that the personnel scandal will hit Meghan Markle’s business hard.
Meghan Markle earned the offensive nickname “the difficult duchess” back in the UK. And while the Sussexes denied all such accusations, an article in the prestigious American publication The Hollywood Reporter came as a bolt from the blue for them, in which a senior employee confirmed the duchess’s bad business reputation.
The insider called Prince Harry’s wife a “dictator in high heels.” He also said that Markle instills fear in his colleagues, as she does not miss an opportunity to humiliate them at every opportunity.
In response, another American magazine, Us Weekly, published a laudatory article in which both current and former employees, both anonymously and by name, sang Meghan’s praises, extolling her “kindness.”
But the chorus of voices defending Prince Harry’s wife quickly died down when an interview emerged with a courtier who worked for the Sussexes before Megxit. Speaking to the Daily Beast, he called Markle a “demonic” boss, as she often had psychotic outbursts and would often drag people through the mud.
Now, public relations expert Eric Schiffer, chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, has suggested that if the allegations against Magan continue to snowball, her business could collapse. That would be even more likely if she were to be sued in a class action lawsuit.
“It’s reputational madness to repeat the same mistakes she’s made in the past and behave in a way that has her employees comparing her to Godzilla. That’s the last thing Meghan should want for her brand,” Newsweek writes.
Earlier, Markle’s employees explained why they were leaving her in droves, as well as why Meghan failed to create her own brand.
