The reason? Both Rachel and Paul are white, yet baby Cash has noticeably darker skin, leading many to question Paul’s paternity. Instead of congratulations, the post was flooded with comments doubting Paul was the biological father.
In response, Celina 52 Truck Stop edited their post to clarify: “Yes, Paul is the father. Rachel has African American ancestry that can skip generations, causing a child to be born with darker skin.” They also suggested the baby might have jaundice, which can darken skin temporarily, and asked for kindness from the public. Despite this, skepticism and jokes continued, with many demanding DNA tests and making light of the situation.
Fed up with the rumors, Rachel shared her ancestry DNA results on Facebook to prove her African American heritage. She wrote, “For the haters saying I don’t have Black DNA, maybe this will clear it up! NOW STOP slandering mine and Paul Buckman’s name. He IS the father of Lil Cash.” However, her post was met with more ridicule, with users mocking the small percentage of Black ancestry and comparing the case to popular paternity shows.
As the story went viral across social media, including TikTok, Celina 52 Truck Stop announced plans to conduct polygraph and DNA tests on their employees, fueling further public intrigue and speculation.
Finally, on March 24, the truck stop released their “FINAL STATEMENT REGARDING CASH JAMAL BUCKMAN PATERNITY” on Facebook. The DNA results from the Steve Wilkos show confirmed that Paul Buckman is not the biological father of Cash Jamal. Despite this, Rachel remains loyal to Paul, claiming the baby was conceived with an ex-boyfriend in 2021. She even put forward a bizarre theory that the ex’s DNA lay dormant until 2023, when a COVID-19 infection “activated” it, leading to her pregnancy.
