Finally, at the beginning of this year, our family was able to move into a new house, which took about four years to build. Our old house, where we lived all the time before the move, is now used as an outbuilding. It has two rooms, one of which is my workshop, and the other we turned into a summer kitchen.
This is what the house looked like in 1976 before I updated the walls:

We are currently tidying up the entire site, so in order for the old house to fit into the overall exterior of the yard, we decided that it needed to be updated. Or rather, to give the brick walls a Bavarian-German style, since our new house is made in exactly this style:

To start with, we decided to renovate the walls and work on the roof in the fall.
While I was busy laying paving slabs, my wife did a very painstaking and monotonous job every day, namely, painting each brick of the old house with paint.

This process takes quite a long time. The house is located on the front of the plot, so almost all the neighbors noticed the painting of the front part of the building. Many of them are used to seeing brick in a regular red shade, so their reaction was ambiguous. Some joked and laughed, others supported, and some said that we ruined the appearance of the house.

However, the end of the work surprised everyone.
To give the house a Bavarian-German style, we chose 4 colors: black, brown, dark brown and light brown.
When the work was already nearing completion and the entire wall looked complete, then the Bavarian masonry style emerged:
Here’s what it looked like before and here’s what it looks like after:

Here are some more photos from different sides:

The work is, of course, very painstaking, but the result is worth it. Now both our houses are made in the same style.
I bought a rather expensive impregnation paint, about 600 rubles per liter, it contains iron oxide, which prevents the color from fading in the sun, and the manufacturer also assures that the paint will be resistant to precipitation for 15 years.

A house measuring 5 by 8 meters required 4 liters of paint.
Now if the neighbors see us, they always ask us to tell them the technology. Everything is quite simple: you need to go over a clean dry brick with a brush with a colored composition, this is done only once, no primers or other additional materials are needed.
