The ancient stone barn, whose construction dates back to the 16th century turned into a VIP apartment. It’s really a magical transformation. You will be shocked when you see it.
The ancient stone barn, whose construction dates back to the 16th century, has been converted into comfortable accommodation. The structure is located in Ireland, in a village where only 1,870 people live, according to census data.
Some time ago there was a workshop here that specialized in creating furniture. In it, a local resident periodically made new or repaired old interior items.

In rural Ireland there is little work, one might even say there is virtually none. That is why for the owner of the building this kind of part-time work was just in time. But one day he had a more promising idea.

The man did not have any knowledge in construction, much less had the relevant experience. Actually, it would be wrong to call him an entrepreneur. Nevertheless, he set about implementing the idea of transforming the old barn into comfortable housing.
Realizing that there were ruins and beautiful villages nearby, he decided to turn this fact to his advantage. The owner at that time was 73 years old, and he worked alone, without assistants or contractors. His name was Colm, he lived all his life in this area, to be more precise, in the neighboring villages. In addition to the barn, on his property there was a good-quality house suitable for living, where members of his family while away their days.
Reconstruction of the barn began in 2005, and in just 3 years the process was completed. Since then, the building has been rented out to tourists. At first there were not many people who wanted to live in it, but over time the housing still gained popularity. Colm participated in interviews more than once and even organized excursions. Now his business is booming!
What’s inside?
On the first level there is a cozy kitchen and a bathroom with shower. Upstairs there is a bedroom that can comfortably accommodate 2 people. The kitchen offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Overall, the room is very cozy, especially considering that it represents the life of ordinary village people. Here, like nowhere else, you can feel the spirit of Ireland, use ancient utensils, and at the same time there are no frills. There are notes of the Middle Ages here, and complete idyll reigns.
The kitchen has everything that could hypothetically be required for a comfortable life, this is not only furniture, but also household appliances. You can rent a house for any period of time without feeling discriminated against. There is even a fireplace in the guest corner, which warms the large room well. In addition, there is a library and an old TV. Even when looking at the photo, you get the feeling that time simply stopped here at the turn of the century.

In turn, the upper level is decorated in an industrial style, such a space can be found in St. Petersburg. Despite the low ceilings, it is comfortable to be here. The stairs are quite steep.
How do you like this house? Would you like to live in it? And in general, have you ever lived in such non-standard housing?
