When a 5-year-old Georgia child awoke, his bedroom was on fire. However, he did not give up and managed to save the entire family by his deeds.
In the bedroom he shared with his 2-year-old sister, Noah Woods and the other seven members of his family were soundly asleep when the youngster was startled awake by smoke and flames.
The only way out of the house was through an open window, so he leaped out of bed, grabbed his sister, and fled.
Noah didn’t stop there, though; he returned to get the puppy and took it outside. Then he ran to his uncle’s house nearby and woke him up. They raised the entire family on their feet together.
Everyone made it out of the house without any problems.
Fire Chief Dwayne Jamison stated, “We’ve seen kids raise the whole family.” “However, it is unusual for a five-year-old boy to perform so well.”
Jamison claims that an overheated electrical socket in Noah’s bedroom caused the fire to ignite. After responding to the call, firefighters gave Noah and the other four family members first assistance for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
On the GoFundMe page, Noah’s grandfather, David_Woods,_wrote, “By_the_grace_of_God, all nine of our_loved_ones_were_able_to_get_out of the house.” “We might_not_be_here_today if it_weren’t_for_Noah.”
The family has opened a fundraising page because the house will have to be restored.
Today, Noah will receive an honorary fireman designation and the lifesaving award that is normally bestowed to professional first responders from the Bartow_County_Fire_Department.
Noah’s bravery was reported to Georgia_Governor_Brian_Kemp as well. Jamison is going to read a letter from the governor at the event.
