We tell you how an ordinary two-room apartment was turned into a snow-white studio in the style of minimalism.
Designers Ksenia Karabanova and Kristina Kirsenko completely transformed an old two-room apartment in a Stalinist building for young customers. From a typical interior, they created a super functional minimalist interior in absolutely white. The concept is based on the idea of interaction between geometric volumes, light and reflection.

Redevelopment
As a result of the redevelopment, the designers created a large living room space, where there is a soft area and a mirror unit with storage.
The kitchen area is located within the original boundaries. To visually expand its space, a glass partition was made between the kitchen and living room. This visually connected both spaces.
The bathroom and the bathroom were combined and expanded through the corridor – we got a spacious shower room with a laundry unit.
Kitchen
The kitchen space is small but functional. To the left of the entrance there is a column with mirrored facades, behind which there is a built-in refrigerator, oven and storage system. Mirrors greatly expanded the space and made it possible to create a light, yet spacious kitchen.

The work area consists of three lower sections and a single surface of the tabletop-apron. Hidden behind the work area is another storage system, thanks to which it was possible to do without bulky upper cabinets, as well as carry out all the necessary communications and hide gas pipes.
A small glass table was placed opposite the work area, which dissolves against the background of a glass partition in the wall opening. Such a light portal visually expands the kitchen space and also serves as additional lighting.

Another interesting detail of the kitchen is the metal panel behind the window. “Instead of a regular grille, we made a perforated panel with round holes, which, on the one hand, protects the apartment from penetration, and on the other, is a source of beautiful shadows,” say the designers.

Living room
The living room consists of several zones. The main one is a soft area with a sofa and an armchair oriented towards the window. During the day you can admire the trees outside the window, and in the evening you can lower the screen and watch a movie. In front of the sofa there is a coffee table made of natural granite. A soft carpet creates a cozy sitting area. And the warm light of the floor lamp encourages you to read a book, climbing into a chair.

Between the two windows there is a synthesizer, and above it there is a sconce. This is a place for the creativity of the housewife who makes music.

Behind the mirrored facades there is a study with a small work area, a pouf and bookshelves.

Bedroom
The bedroom is located in a niche, which is separated from the living area by a glass partition and thick curtains.
In the center of the bedroom there is a low black wooden bed, on both sides of which there are white metal bedside tables. There is no overhead lighting in the bedroom, only sconces and lighting inside the cabinets.

Hallway
To the right of the entrance there is a mirror block in which outerwear is stored. And on the left, behind the white facades, there is storage for outdoor sports equipment (scooter, snowboard).

Bathroom
The bathroom has a free-standing sink made of natural granite, behind which a large storage system is hidden. This block is adjacent to the kitchen and allows not only to create storage, but also to provide access to communications.

To the right of the sink is a panoramic mirror that expands the space and completes the mirror block from the kitchen.
Opposite the mirror is a shower block finished in large-format granite. The shower lighting consists of a light-diffusing sheet and a perforated metal sheet, which echoes the window in the kitchen and makes it possible to create both dim lighting and bright lighting.
There is also a laundry unit with washing machine and storage in the bathroom.
