Designer made a redevelopment and, due to the impractical corridor, enlarged the kitchen and bathroom. She also beautifully decorated the gas pipe.
Briefly
Designer Anastasia Finko designed a one-room apartment in a five-story building built in 1981 for herself. In a small area I created a comfortable space for living, working and relaxing. The old apartment was remodeled and the kitchen and bathroom were enlarged due to the impractical corridor.

Designer Anastasia Finko began renovations in her new apartment with redevelopment. We expanded the bathroom to include a corridor, a niche for a refrigerator appeared in the kitchen – for this purpose, an opening was blocked and the entrance to the living room was moved. A door was provided to separate the kitchen and bedroom.
The kitchen remained in place, but the hob was moved to the middle of the kitchen unit (the stove was previously on the left, by the window). Furniture from Leroy: standard size cabinets, drawers for cutlery, for horizontal storage of plates, lower high drawer for storing cereals. There is a drawer for frying pans under the oven and a bottle holder (the owner uses it to store spices, sponges, and household chemicals).

The upper cabinets were eliminated to make the small kitchen look lighter and more spacious. Above the apron, the designer placed a painting based on an individual sketch by the artist Maria Malyar, so the kitchen acquired individuality, plus they visually disguised the gas pipe.

The paint used throughout the entire apartment was white, washable, without tint. In the bathroom, the wet areas are tiled, the rest are painted blue. The tiles and blue paint do not extend to the ceiling, making the room visually appear higher. Stretch ceiling with built-in lamps.

“On the floor of the living room and hall there is an engineered board of a beautiful warm shade, tiles of different sizes – this creates a natural effect. I chose a not the most expensive type of selection, with knots and different colors, but this not only did not spoil the interior, but also gave the feeling of a country house. The effect is complemented by an open balcony and lush greenery in the window. When choosing finishing materials, I always advise you to take into account the context – the type of house, the area, the nature of the environment. Unexpected experiments can happen,” says Anastasia Finko.

In the hall, the designer first thought about a built-in wardrobe, but it was expensive and would not accommodate all the outerwear. This is how the open mesh dressing room was born. A shoe rack, hooks, rails and a couple of shelves are a budget solution. All this is covered with curtains on a very ordinary rail (for curtains in the bathroom, the main thing is that it is of high quality). This dressing room also accommodates a vacuum cleaner.

The bathroom was enlarged due to redevelopment – where there used to be a corridor, there is a washing machine with a stylish design and a large storage cabinet. “The tile is reminiscent of its predecessor – the old bathroom also had square white tiles. I chose a similar one, but in a modern design, and selected colored grout to match the blue color of the painted walls. A mirror was made to order in the same color. The white magnetic hatch was also painted, creating a budget option for a hidden hatch. And, of course, the painting – with it any bathroom will turn into a bathroom, this is my favorite technique. The pencil case was ordinary white, I decorated it with a long brass handle with beautiful balls at the base,” says the designer.
