Anastasia Finko remodeled and updated the outdated interior.
Designer Anastasia Finko designed a one-room apartment in a five-story building built in 1981 for herself. In a small area I created a comfortable space for living, working and relaxing. The old apartment was remodeled; the kitchen and bathroom were enlarged due to the impractical corridor.
Kitchen before renovation
The room is small, typical furniture arrangement, entrance from the corridor.

Kitchen after renovation
The kitchen remained in place, but the hob was moved to the middle of the kitchen unit (the stove was previously on the left, by the window). Furniture from Leroy: standard size cabinets, drawers for cutlery, for horizontal storage of plates, lower high drawer for storing cereals. There is a drawer for frying pans under the oven and a bottle holder (the owner uses it to store spices, sponges, and household chemicals).

The upper cabinets were eliminated to make the small kitchen look lighter and more spacious. Above the apron, the designer placed a painting based on an individual sketch by the artist Maria Malyar, so the kitchen acquired individuality, plus they visually disguised the gas pipe.

Room before renovation
The apartment has one room, which served as a place for sleeping, storage, and leisure.

The designer placed a full bed for sleeping, abandoning the sofa. The white cabinet is spacious, but does not overwhelm you with its dimensions.

“I really love the veneer desk. It matches the color of the floor, tactile, natural, with rounded corners, 120 centimeters wide – it is very comfortable for work, since a lamp, monitor, and laptop fit on the table. A bedside table made from recycled plastic is also a favorite. Eco-friendly, designer and does not spoil from hot drinks,” says Anastasia Finko.

Bathroom after renovation
The bathroom was enlarged due to redevelopment – where there used to be a corridor, there is a washing machine with a stylish design and a large storage cabinet. “The tile is reminiscent of its predecessor – the old bathroom also had square white tiles. I chose a similar one, but in a modern design, and selected colored grout to match the blue color of the painted walls. A mirror was made to order in the same color. The white magnetic hatch was also painted, creating a budget option for a hidden hatch. And, of course, the painting – with it any bathroom will turn into a bathroom, this is my favorite technique. The pencil case was ordinary white, I decorated it with a long brass handle with beautiful balls at the base,” says the designer.
