Designer updated the interior of the room under the roof and shared interesting ideas.
The designer converted the attic into a playroom for the customers’ granddaughter and a recreation area. The attic had not been used before; unnecessary things were stored there. The designer breathed new life into this space with the help of finishing and decor. We share interesting techniques that you can apply in your own home.
Combination of different decorations in a room
The walls of the attic are covered with clapboard, it was painted in two colors. Decorative plaster was applied to one of the walls, and seamless wallpaper was applied to the opposite wall. The walls are also decorated with decorative brick-like stone, and the walls of the playroom are finished with soft wall panels. And all this in a relatively small area.

Tires for spots on the beam
To visually hide the bases for the spots, they were placed along the beams under the ceiling. Take note!

Sofa with back to window
Quite a non-standard solution, considering that owners usually try to position the sofa facing the window. But in this attic people gather for socializing and playing, so the attention is directed to the center of the room.

Felt mats for warmth
The smart eco-felt mat is a modern carpet specifically designed to make playing on the floor warm and cozy and ensure maximum comfort and safety for the child.

Horse theme
The designer chose horses and stables as the main theme. Drawings were placed on the walls, and the pantry doors were also stylized – it looks like doors in a stable or barn.

Door in the color of the wall
There are a lot of accents in this interior, so some boundaries needed to be “softened.” So, the door was painted graphite – the color of the wall.

Electric fireplace under the roof
Traditionally, the fireplace is located on the ground floor. But there are no restrictions for an electric firebox. It fits perfectly into the interior of the attic. The effect was enhanced with the help of a firewood cutter.

Using the resulting niches
During the renovation, all the emerging niches were made functional. The largest one was equipped with a playroom, and the small one – a shelf for books and decor.
