The wife of iconic actor Bruce Willis, 47-year-old Emma Heming, has shared candid reflections on how her husband’s frontotemporal dementia (FTD) has changed the way their family celebrates Christmas and New Year’s. Writing on her website, Emma revealed that the holiday season is now accompanied by a deep sense of sadness. She admitted that she sometimes feels as though she is cursing the illness that has separated her from the man who now lives in a different home.
According to Emma, Bruce used to be the heart of every celebration. She remembers him as an energetic and loving host who cherished family traditions. He was the one who made pancakes for breakfast, played with the children in the snow, and created a sense of stability and warmth throughout the day.
Emma also confessed that in the past, simply knowing how the holiday would unfold brought her comfort and peace of mind.

“I catch myself gently, not angrily, cursing Bruce when I’m untangling Christmas lights or doing things he used to take care of,” she admitted. “Not because I’m angry with him… but because I miss the way he once organized and brought life to the holidays.”
