In the morning, I smelled something strange—like burning—in my baby’s room. After reviewing the camera footage, I realized that an outlet near the crib had caught fire, and my child was saved by what happened next… 😨😲
This morning, around six, I walked into the nursery and immediately noticed a strange smell of smoke.
It was as if something had been burning here recently. The scent was sharp and thick… yet everything else was quiet and calm. My little one was sleeping peacefully in the crib, not stirring at all. He hadn’t woken or cried during the night, so at first, I thought I might be imagining it.
But as I got closer, my heart sank. The wall near the crib was blackened with soot, and the outlet was charred.
I froze. That could mean only one thing: there had been a fire in the nursery. But how? Why had it already gone out? And who had put it out? There had been no smell of smoke, no alarm, no sound of fire during the night…
Shaking with fear, I grabbed the baby monitor. I had to understand what had happened while we slept.

I rewound the footage, barely blinking. The first two hours were silent. My baby slept like an angel.
Then, around 2:30 a.m., it all happened in seconds: the outlet suddenly flared up with bright flames. Sparks flew across the floor.
A fire like that could have engulfed the entire room—and my baby would not have survived.
Watching the footage made me sick. My tiny, defenseless child was completely unaware that death had been just steps away from his crib.
And then—movement appeared on the video. I stared, unable to believe what I was seeing. Only because of this is my child still alive 😲😱

Our dog. The same dog that usually slept in the living room seemed to sense something and entered the nursery.
She saw the fire—and didn’t hesitate for a second. She ran straight to the outlet, bit the cord, and yanked it out.
The flames began to die down but were still smoldering. Then she… started stamping out the fire with her paws.
When it was finally out, the dog sat by the crib and didn’t leave my baby’s side until morning.

Later, I noticed burns on her paws and around her mouth. And in that moment, I realized one thing: she had saved my child.
Dear parents, I beg you—be careful. Never leave appliances plugged in near children, check old wiring, and never ignore strange smells.
Today my son is alive only because our dog was there. But luck isn’t always on our side.
