Rapper Cardi B—who recently shared new photos of her fourth baby—has taken a bold and deeply personal approach to honoring her newest arrival: she turned the child’s umbilical cord into a gold-plated keepsake. Her newborn son with boyfriend Stefon Diggs inspired the unusual and heartfelt tribute.
Cardi wanted to preserve a physical reminder of the powerful moment her child entered the world. To do so, she had the umbilical cord professionally encapsulated. On Instagram, Julianna, the specialist who handled the process, walked fans through every step—from shaping the cord into a delicate heart to dehydrating it and finally coating it in gleaming gold chrome.
“The place where her baby’s journey began… transformed into a keepsake she’ll treasure for a lifetime,” Julianna wrote. “The umbilical cord is a child’s very first connection to their mother, the lifeline that nourishes, protects, and sustains them throughout pregnancy.”
She added that crafting such sentimental mementos is always an honor, but creating one for Cardi and her newest little one carried special meaning for her.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has worked with Julianna. After giving birth to her third child in 2024, Cardi also entrusted her with preserving parts of her placenta. This time, in addition to the golden umbilical cord, Cardi received a detailed placenta print—and some of the organ was processed into capsules designed for postpartum healing.
