Alarmed by the discovery, the manager promptly reported the matter to the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters, triggering an official response. A source familiar with the investigation explained, “The lifeless body of a young girl was found in a hotel at Igbogene on Saturday, causing confusion and panic in the area. She had lodged in the hotel with a suspected Yahoo boy who left soon after. The hotel manager who discovered her body immediately alerted the police.”
Confirming the tragic incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr. Musa Muhammad, stated that the case is under active investigation. He emphasized that authorities are making every effort to identify and apprehend those responsible. “We received the report yesterday,” Muhammad said. “While no arrests have been made at this time, investigations are ongoing. Serious inquiries are being conducted to ensure that the culprits are brought to justice. An autopsy will also be performed to determine the cause of death.”
