Anna worked as the head chef at one of the city’s most renowned restaurants. She was respected, loved, and admired for her talent and kindness.
When she discovered she was pregnant, her joy knew no bounds—years of waiting had finally ended in a miracle. But her husband, a wealthy businessman, reacted very differently.
“We weren’t planning for a child,” he said irritably. “I’m dealing with business problems right now.”
“Yes, but this child is a gift from God,” Anna replied gently. “We must accept and love him.”
He didn’t say anything more, but from that day on, he changed—becoming cold, distant, and unfamiliar. He spent more and more time at work, stopped asking about her health, and seemed to be waiting for her to disappear from his life.
Months passed. Anna continued working in the kitchen, trying not to dwell on her sadness. Her colleagues often told her she was overworking herself, but she smiled:
“I’m happy when I work. You’re my family.”
One evening, after the restaurant closed and everyone had gone home, Anna changed and prepared to leave. Suddenly, her husband appeared at the door.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, surprised.

“Is everyone gone?” he asked, trying to sound calm.
“Yes, I’m alone. Why?”
“Just curious,” he said—and suddenly shoved her into the huge refrigerator, slamming the heavy door behind her.
Anna hit the floor and screamed:
“What are you doing?! Let me out! Please!”
“You’ll spend the night here,” he said coldly. “I hope we never see each other again.”
The temperature inside was near freezing. Anna shivered, screamed, and begged, but no one could hear her. The stress triggered labor contractions. She collapsed to the floor, clutching her belly, trying to keep even a little warmth.
Her husband calmly left, hoping it would all look like an accident in the morning. No one would suspect anything—the refrigerator was frequently used by the kitchen staff.
