Every single morning, right at the same time, an elderly man would open his front door and find the same mysterious sight — a fresh loaf of bread 🍞, neatly wrapped in plastic and left on his porch.
At first, it seemed harmless — even kind. But the old man had no clue who was behind it. And when he finally went to the police for help… what he discovered made his blood run cold 😨
For several days in a row, the bread kept appearing in the exact same spot. It was always wrapped tightly, with a colorful label bearing the name of a bakery he’d never heard of before — one that sounded foreign, almost made-up.
“Strange,” he murmured, holding the loaf and studying the label. The neighbors hadn’t mentioned anything, and he hadn’t ordered food from anyone.
At first, he tried to convince himself it was just a thoughtful gesture — maybe one of his kindhearted neighbors had noticed he lived alone and wanted to help him with groceries. The thought warmed his heart for a moment… but his instincts whispered that something wasn’t right.
He didn’t eat the bread. Something about it felt off. Free gifts, he knew, rarely came without a reason.
The next day, the same thing happened — the same loaf, the same wrapping, the same strange label. He started to feel uneasy. Maybe, he thought, it was part of a new community service program for pensioners. But why hadn’t anyone informed him? And why hadn’t anyone else received one?

By the third morning, his anxiety had reached its peak. Every creak, every shadow outside his window made him jump. What if someone was watching him? What if it wasn’t a gift… but a warning?
Clutching the mysterious loaf under his arm, he walked to the nearest store and asked the cashier:
“Miss, are you the one who’s been delivering this? Some sort of promotion?”
The young woman gave him a puzzled look.
“Delivering bread? No, sir,” she replied. “We sell bread here, not deliver it. Maybe you should check with the bakery.”
The old man left even more confused — and now, afraid. What if the bread was tainted? What if someone was trying to poison him slowly, bit by bit?
That night, he decided to find out the truth once and for all. From an old box in the attic, he dug out a dusty video camera 📹 — a relic from family gatherings long past. He set it up near the window, aimed it at his porch, and went to bed.

When morning came, he brewed a cup of tea, sat down, and nervously played the footage. What he saw nearly made his heart stop 💀
At 4:03 a.m., a small drone hovered silently in the dark sky, descended over his porch, and gently dropped a plastic-wrapped loaf of bread before zipping away into the night.
It wasn’t a person. It wasn’t a neighbor. It wasn’t even human.
His hands trembling, he grabbed the recording and rushed straight to the police. When the officers watched the footage, they exchanged glances — and one of them let out a small, knowing laugh.
“Sir,” said the officer carefully, “you’ve stumbled into a tech experiment.”
It turned out that a startup company had been secretly testing a new bread delivery system using autonomous drones. His address had been added to their list by accident after he’d unknowingly tapped on an ad while checking the weather on his phone a few days earlier.
He had unintentionally subscribed to a one-month trial of “drone bread delivery” — and had been part of their experiment ever since.
The company apologized and refunded him, and the deliveries stopped. But even after the explanation, the old man couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that someone — or something — might still be watching him from above 👀
And as for the last loaf still sitting on his kitchen table… he never dared to taste it again 🍞😰
