In the movie It, he played Pennywise, and in Home Alone 2 – the charismatic villain Mr. Hector. However, one day Tim Curry disappeared from the public eye. The reason is heartbreaking: the actor suffered a stroke and can no longer walk. Yet Curry doesn’t hide from cameras, which only earns him respect.
The 79-year-old actor openly spoke about his health 13 years after the stroke. He admitted that he still struggles with regaining mobility in his legs.
“I still can’t walk, so I’m in this silly chair,” Curry told the audience at a special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. “It’s very limiting.”

The actor doesn’t expect to be able to move his legs again anytime soon.
“I won’t be singing or dancing anytime soon,” Curry joked. “I still have real problems with my left leg.”
Tim Curry suffered a stroke in 2012. He admitted that he didn’t even realize he was in critical condition at the time.

“They were giving me a massage, and I didn’t notice anything,” Curry recalled. “But the guy giving the massage said, ‘I’m worried about you, I want to call an ambulance.’ He did, and I said, ‘That’s so silly.’”
A year after the incident, Curry’s agent publicly confirmed that the actor had suffered a stroke but insisted that he “felt fine.”
However, as we can see, the consequences of the illness turned out to be quite severe.
