Country Icon Dolly Parton Steps Back From Las Vegas Shows Due to Health Concerns.

Dolly Parton will not be dazzling Las Vegas this December as originally planned.

The country music icon shared on social media Sunday that her highly anticipated six-night residency, “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, has been pushed back from December 2025 to September 2026 because of ongoing health concerns.

“I want you all to hear it from me first — sadly, I need to postpone my upcoming shows in Las Vegas,” Parton explained. “As many of you know, I’ve been facing some health challenges, and my doctors insist I undergo a few procedures. I teased them that it must be my 100,000-mile tune-up — though not the kind that takes me to my plastic surgeon!”

In a more serious tone, she added, “Because of this, I won’t be able to rehearse or create the kind of show I want you to experience — the one you deserve. You spend your hard-earned money to see me perform, and I owe you the best version of myself. While I can still work on other projects here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get stage-ready again.”

The 79-year-old star made it clear that this is not a farewell. “Don’t you worry about me quitting — the Lord hasn’t told me to stop yet,” she said with her trademark humor. “But I do believe He’s telling me to slow down for now, so I can be ready for even bigger adventures with all of you. Thank you for your love and understanding.”

Fans had already grown concerned earlier this year when Parton skipped a Dollywood announcement event, explaining she was suffering from a painful kidney stone. While it’s not unusual for her to occasionally miss appearances at her beloved theme park, postponing her long-awaited Vegas return — nearly 30 years since her last extended run there — has certainly caused a stir.

Still, Parton promised she’ll be back in sparkling form soon. Ticket holders for her original December 2025 dates will now see her in Sin City on the following rescheduled dates:

  • Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 (originally Dec. 4, 2025)

  • Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 (originally Dec. 6, 2025)

  • Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026 (originally Dec. 7, 2025)

  • Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026 (originally Dec. 10, 2025)

  • Friday, Sept. 25, 2026 (originally Dec. 12, 2025)

  • Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 (originally Dec. 13, 2025)
