She thought she could steal from my garden unnoticed … but I had a fun surprise waiting to teach her a lesson

My neighbor was stealing vegetables and fruits from my small backyard garden and lied that it wasn’t her — so I came up with a plan to teach her a lesson.

My neighbor had been stealing vegetables and fruit from my little garden for months. I tended every bed with care, pouring my heart and money into growing fresh zucchini, greens and tomatoes. But the moment we left the house, she would appear in the yard and walk away with bags as if it were her own produce.

I tried to talk to her:

— Please, don’t touch my harvest — I grew all this myself.

She looked me straight in the eye with a stone face and replied:

— You’re imagining things. I didn’t take anything.

Going to the police was pointless — they just laughed:

— What, are you upset about a couple of tomatoes for grandma?

So I decided to install a camera. A few days later I had video of her clearly leaving my yard with bags of greens. But when I showed her the footage, she brazenly claimed:

— That’s Photoshop. That’s not me.

At that moment I realized: evidence was useless. I needed another way to make her understand that stealing from me had to stop. That’s when I did something unexpected…

I deliberately left part of the vegetables and herbs in the bed that I had pre-treated with a special solution made from pharmacy herbs and a bitter tincture.

The solution was completely harmless, but it ruined the taste entirely: the leaves became horribly bitter and the vegetables inedible.

A couple of days later my “victim” came into the yard again and cheerfully gathered bags. I just watched through the camera as she hauled them home.

The next evening I heard a row starting next door. Yells reached me:

— What is this disgusting stuff?! You ruined dinner!

— I didn’t do anything! Your vegetables are bitter!

My neighbor tried to defend herself, but no one listened. They argued for several days, and during that time I didn’t see her in my yard again. The garden trap had worked.

After that incident she stopped coming onto my plot. When we ran into each other by chance, she only averted her eyes and walked on without a word.

I realized one thing: sometimes the best way to teach a lesson isn’t the police or shouting, but a clever trick that restores a sense of justice.
