The new documentary “In Whose Name?”, recently released in theaters, has already sparked major buzz — and it’s no surprise, given one particularly raw scene between 48-year-old Kanye West and his former mother-in-law, Kris Jenner.
In the footage, the rapper lashes out at Kim Kardashian’s mother, shouting at her and refusing to take the medication prescribed for his bipolar disorder. At one point, Kanye declares he’d “rather die than be on pills,” accusing the family of turning him into “a piece of garbage.”
Kris tries to calm the confrontation, reminding him that their personal relationships matter more than what the internet says. But West refuses to back down, repeating: “It does matter!”
The exchange escalates until Jenner breaks down in tears, admitting she may have contributed to his struggles with mental health. Through tears, she adds heartfelt words:
“I love you. I want my daughter to love you the way you want her to.”

No wonder the film is making headlines: Kanye’s documentary has quickly become one of the most talked-about premieres of the fall. It hit U.S. theaters on September 19, runs 109 minutes, and draws from over 3,000 hours of footage shot across six years.
