Peter Dinklage, star of Game of Thrones and The Toxic Avenger, revealed the secret to his 20-year happy marriage with playwright Erica Schmidt. The couple, who secretly tied the knot in Las Vegas back in 2005, are raising two children.
At a special screening of his new film Roofman in New York, the 56-year-old actor gave a brief but pointed answer when journalists asked about his recipe for marital happiness. He shared just one word.
“Patience. Patience. Yes, patience,” Dinklage said, adding that he and Erica have been together for “a little over 20 years.”
In an earlier interview, the actor recalled that their wedding was spontaneous and that the video of the ceremony is “hidden very deep.” The couple keeps the names of their two children private.
The film Roofman is based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, a former U.S. Army Ranger who, after escaping from prison, lived secretly for six months in a Toys “R” Us store. Channing Tatum stars in the lead role, with Dinklage and Kirsten Dunst appearing in supporting roles.
