In Turkey, on the Black Sea, the luxurious yacht Dolce Vento belonging to an Istanbul millionaire sank almost immediately after being launched. Literally 15 minutes after hitting the water, the $1 million vessel went under.
The unfortunate incident occurred near the city of Ereğli in the Zonguldak province. Video footage shows the luxury boat tipping over and beginning to sink just minutes after its launch. What started as an exciting moment quickly turned into a disaster. The yacht tilted to one side and then submerged about 200 meters from the shore.

At the time of the accident, the yacht’s owner was on board. He had to evacuate the vessel along with the captain and two crew members. The yacht measured over 24 meters in length and qualified as a superyacht.
None of the four people on board were injured; they all reached the shore safely. The cause of the accident remains unknown, although experts suggest the yacht may have had stability issues. Such problems are often linked to miscalculations of the vessel’s metacentric height and are among the most common reasons yachts capsize during launch. An official investigation is still underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
It’s worth noting that Dolce Vento was commissioned by a company called Feyz Group. The name translates to “sweet wind” or “pleasant breeze”—a poetic name that sadly contrasts with the yacht’s tragic fate.
