66-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis, who has openly declared war on the beauty industry, shared a touching story about her near-encounter with the late Princess Diana.
On Sunday, August 31, the actress took to Instagram to recall how, back in 1997, she almost met the legendary princess on the set of Fierce Creatures, the sequel to A Fish Called Wanda.

Jamie explained that while filming at the famous Pinewood Studios, about 20 miles west of London, she hopped into a golf cart during a break to quickly get to her dressing room and use the restroom. It was at that exact moment that Princess Diana arrived on set with her sons.
“My driver started banging on the door, saying Diana had arrived with her children, but by the time I got back, she was already gone,” Curtis remembered.

The next day, the actress decided to write a letter to Kensington Palace, explaining why she had missed the meeting and expressing her admiration for the princess. To Jamie’s surprise, she received a reply the very next day — from Diana herself.
“She thanked me for the letter and kindly acknowledged that I had been away for a natural reason. Diana even noted that the same thing happens to her all the time. She also said she was looking forward to our meeting,” Curtis recalled.
Just two months later, Princess Diana tragically died in Paris at the age of 36. For Jamie Lee Curtis, that almost-encounter remained a treasured memory — a small flash of humanity and warmth that sadly never had the chance to become a real meeting.
