Helicopter Tour Turns Tragic as Pilot Dies from Sudden Heart Attack (Video)

In Kamchatka, Russia, a helicopter pilot suffered a heart attack mid-flight.

According to the Telegram channel SHOT, the Robinson helicopter—reportedly carrying passengers—was forced to make an emergency landing on a volcano within the Kronotsky Nature Reserve after the pilot experienced severe heart problems.

After landing, the man informed others of his condition. However, while an air ambulance was being prepared, his health rapidly worsened. Despite efforts to save him, he passed away.

SHOT reports that the pilot and owner of the helicopter was businessman Igor Kan.

The 59-year-old aviator regularly underwent medical check-ups and, according to friends, had never complained of health issues. Kan frequently flew tourists on private Robinson sightseeing tours, with each trip costing around 500,000 rubles (approximately 10,707 manats). On the day of the incident, he had taken off with a group of four tourists.

Rescue teams have since reached the Robinson helicopter, evacuating both the pilot’s body and the passengers from the site.
