Meet Xherdan… or at least, that’s what his owner calls him. But most people just shout, “It’s the Naked Evil Cat!” Though it sounds harsh, it’s a bit unfair—Xherdan isn’t actually naked or mean. He’s a Sphynx cat, a breed known for its distinctive, wrinkled skin and unique features that some might find unusual, but are perfectly normal for him.
Now five years old, Xherdan lives in Switzerland and doesn’t seek out internet fame. That credit goes to his owner, Sandra Filippy, who shared photos of him online without expecting his distinctive, serious-looking face to go viral. Yet, the “grumpy little demon” quickly became an internet sensation, known worldwide.
Many people find the wrinkly, hairless Sphynx cats a bit unsettling at first, but Sandra says she was smitten with Xherdan from day one. Those soft pink folds—like a ripe peach—and his striking turquoise eyes quickly won her heart. They share a deep bond, though it’s hard to imagine that such an intense-looking creature would obey anyone.
Xherdan’s appearance is deceiving. Despite his somewhat stern, wrinkled expression caused by his breed’s extra skin folds, he’s actually a gentle and curious cat. He’s always eager to know where Sandra is and what she’s doing. Sphynx cats are known to be very attached to their humans, and Xherdan is no exception. So if you visit, don’t be surprised when he demands all your attention.
