Esperance Luminesca Fuerzina, 36, a former U.S. Army veteran, holds the Guinness World Record for the most tattoos and body modifications by a woman. With 99.8% of her body covered in ink, she also has a split tongue, subdermal implants, and numerous other cosmetic alterations.
Despite her remarkable transformation, Luminesca isn’t finished yet and has no plans to stop. She shared her journey with the Guinness World Records team.

Her first tattoo was inked on her thigh at age 21. A decade later, she began a large-scale body art project, turning her skin into a cohesive work of art. Beyond tattoos, she split her tongue, tattooed her lips, eyes, and gums, and added symbols when simple images weren’t enough.

She also altered the shape of her hands and skull with implants but doesn’t consider herself intimidating, viewing these changes as forms of artistic expression.

Among her most unusual modifications are genital piercings, tattoos on the soles of her feet, crimson-colored teeth, nipple piercings, and cropped ears. Most tattoo designs were crafted by professional artists and applied gradually over time.
Looking ahead, Luminesca plans to pursue higher education, explore new creative outlets, and advocate for human rights. She is also involved in HIV awareness campaigns and volunteers at animal shelters.
