Best known for her classic portrayal of the wholesome TV mom, June Lockhart’s career spans over 90 years and goes far beyond her famous role as Ruth Martin on Lassie. From 1958 to 1964, she charmed viewers as the caring mother of Timmy (played by Jon Provost) and formed a memorable bond with the beloved collie, Lassie.
Lockhart later captivated audiences as Dr. Maureen Robinson, the strong-willed matriarch of Lost in Space, which aired from 1965 to 1968. Her impressive résumé includes guest appearances on popular series like Bewitched, Petticoat Junction, Magnum, P.I., Step by Step, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
She also played a recurring role in nearly 40 episodes of General Hospital. In recent years, she’s continued to grace the screen in TV films and special appearances.
